EDUC 510 - Organization of School Curriculum (3 credit hours)
Focus on the processes of designing, implementing and evaluating curriculum. The roles of various persons (e.g., students, teachers, administrators, parents, scholars) in the development and management of curriculum are considered.
EDUC 511 - Models of Effective Instruction (3 credit hours)
Learn instructional strategies that are both research-based and classroom-tested. Techniques to improve student achievement by increasing motivation, involvement, and success are explored. Issues of poverty and other systemic factors affecting student learning are addressed. Course includes reflective analysis of present instructional strategies. Direct application to classroom situations is emphasized.
EDUC 590 - Introduction to Educational Research (3 credit hours)
A basic course in methods of research in education; the planning and conducting of a research study; the development of skills in problem identification, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and preparations of research statistics.
EDUC 584 - Advanced Application Computers in Education (3 credit hours)
Emphasis is on computer-based teaching methods and assessments, technology troubleshooting, training other teachers to integrate technology within content areas, computer architecture, using peripheral, networking, emerging trends in technology integration, educational technology policy issues and World Wide Web and other professional resources.

EDUC 586 - Multimedia Presentations (3 credit hours)
This class features concepts and applications in the development of multimedia presentations using Photoshop, Power Point, digital movie editing, and World Web design. Principles of effective presentation design are emphasized along with elements of computer graphics. The course involves student presentations and peer review of class projects.
